Think Fungus
IMD is a serious and life-threatening fungal infection and its clinical manifestations are like bacterial pneumonia. Patients with prolonged neutropenia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or severe viral infection, HIV and CMV reactivation, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, liver and solid tumors and receiving organ transplant are at risk of developing IMD. Early recognition of the disease and providing life-saving treatment will significantly reduce the mortality and improve patient outcomes.
